Chevreaux Castle history
In 1480 the castle was captured by the royal troops and some of the fortifications were destroyed by the order of King Louis XI. In 1595, the castle was also damaged by the troops of King Henry IV of France. During the Ten Years' War on April 2, 1637, after a three-day siege, the castle was captured by the troops of the Duke of Longueville and partially destroyed. Since 1990, the castle has been constantly restored by the Friends of Chevreaux Chatel Association.
