Eppstein Castle of Hesse by EuroTourData
Eppstein Castle is the restored ruins spur castle and the urban castle, built around 1118 as the imperial castle to guard the border. The castle houses the Epstein Town Museum.

Description of Eppstein Castle
On the northwestern side of the inner bailey is located the round keep. In the Middle Ages, the keep height was 33 meters, of which 24 meters have survived today. On the southeast side of the castle there is the well preserved chamber gate connected to the zwinger located on the south side. On the western side of the castle localed pincer gate also having a connection with the western zwinger.
