Falkenberg Castle history
Around 1300, the castle passed into the possession of the Waldsassen monastery. After 1486, a nursing home was established in the castle. Shortly before the end of the Thirty Years' War, the castle was bombed and captured by the troops of the Swedish General Königsmark. In 1803 the castle became the property of the Kingdom of Bavaria.
