Greifenstein Castle of Hesse by EuroTourData

Greifenstein Castle is the restored ruins of the hill castle, built around 1160 as the coercion castle of the Counts of Nassau-Beilstein to protect Cologne High Military and Escort Road. In 1298 the castle was destroyed by the troops of the counts of Nassau and Solms. After 1693 the castle fell into disrepair. The castle houses Bell Museum.
