Hohenstein Castle history
After the War of the Succession of Landshut, the free Imperial City of Nuremberg received the rights to Hohenstein Castle. During the Second Margrave War the castle was captured and partially destroyed by the troops of the Margrave of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. After the war, the castle was restored and modernized.
