Tittmoning Castle is the spur castle, built around 1234 as the border stronghold of the Archdiocese of Salzburg for the purpose of guarding against the Duchy of Bavaria.

Tittmoning Castle history
In 1338 the fortifications of the castle were reinforced. After 1816 the castle belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria. The town of Titmoning bought the castle in 1852 due to the beginning of disrepair. In 1911, the Museum of the Historical Society was moved to the castle. In 1953, renovation work began on the castle.
