Nicholas Tower of Ochsenfurt by EuroTourData
Nicholas Tower was built in 1505 as the round corner tower located behind the southwestern defensive wall of Ochsenfurt Medieval Fortifications. The tower was renewed in 1613. In front, on the zwinger's inner wall, is located Thick Tower. The tower has traces of shelling during the Seven Years War. The walls of the tower were considered resistant to artillery fire and therefore the tower was used to store gunpowder. Info is based on articles Liste der Baudenkmäler in Ochsenfurt of German Wikipedia and Nikolausturm (Ochsenfurt) of WürzburgWiki.
