Eda Sconce by EuroTourData
Eda Sconce was built in 1657 to protect the border with Norway on the pass between lakes Hugn and Bisjon and was modernized in 1808. The skonse is surrounded by the rampart with the total length of 600 meters, about 2.5 meters high and the width of 3 meters, has three corner bastions, the redant, and the corner hornwork. The skonse garrison consisted of 700 soldiers and was armed with 28 cannons. Norwegian forces laid siege to the fort in 1679, but the attack was repulsed. Info is based on the article Eda skans of Swedish Wikipedia.
