Fredriksborg Fortress by EuroTourData
Fredriksborg Fortress was built in 1735 as the coastal fortress to protect the waterway to Stockholm. The fortress consists of an upper redoubt with the gallery for cannons and rifles. The armament of the redoubt consisted of 40 cannons and 2000 soldiers. The coastal part had 41 cannons and was located between two caponiers. Currently, only the northern caponier has been preserved.
